Celebrity pets are becoming more and more well-known now. Indeed some have even been honoured at Madame Tussaud's. I am a firm believer in the sort of pet you have reflecting your personality. Obviously I do not know these celebrities so I'll just give you my thoughts on their pets and you can decide the rest! I will, however, say that I think some of these people have gone specifically for unusual dogs as a statement, and we all know how I feel about that..

Elton John and Arthur

The Cocker is a sturdy, compact, well-balanced dog. It has a characteristic expression showing intelligence and alertness. Its eyes should be dark and its lobular ears should reach the tip of the nose when pulled forward. Today, a significant difference in appearance exists between field-bred and conformation show-bred dogs.

Spaniel type dogs have been found in art and literature for almost 500 years. Today, this breed is experiencing a resurgence in usage as a working and hunting dog.

Elton’s dog Arthur is a very smart Cocker spaniel. Maybe the most surprising fact about him is that he was best man at the civil ceremony when Elton married his partner David Furnish.

I must admit that I would have loved to have done the same with Pan and Badger when I got married but haven’t quite got the same clout or money when it comes to bending the health and safety rules!

Cockers can be very sweet dogs but the odd one does seem to have a slightly questionable temperament these days. They are also prone to ear disease and several inherited eye problems so do your research thoroughly if you’re contemplating one for a pet.
