Am I too squeamish? I would love to be a vet but I don't know if it will be too gory for me. Is there some sort of test I can take that will tell me if I'm too squeamish?

I’m afraid to say, Alice, that the only way you will know is to go and see some gore for yourself! Getting work experience at weekends or in holidays is probably the best way to know. Don’t be worried if you do struggle to start with. Lots of people find the surgery a hot and tiring place to be with a number of odours and sights that all take a little getting used to. We had a work experience girl with us a few weeks ago who fainted the first day when she saw an operation but she was right back in there the next day with no problems at all. Give it a go and good luck!
