How can I help my chances? Hi, I have written to you before saying thank you for this site as it kept me going through all my interviews at universities despite being rejected by some! I came out with an offer to Liverpool with grades AAB I was so happy!! However I received ABB missing an A in chemistry by 0.8% I was gutted and now the universities want 3A's from me for next year! I am therefore retaking and will do it next yr but have you any suggestions on how else to improve my chances?? Really can’t afford to fail next time round I don’t know if I could take it! Soooooo CloseWow, what can I say? Firstly, you’ve done really well and you should be proud of yourself. Secondly, well done for your total determination and I totally feel for you in your frustration. Work hard for your resits but if you can find time to get more work experience it will help with the universities. I don’t know about the process now but when I went through (although I didn’t resit) I got references from everywhere I had seen practice to send with my application and from the school to show how determined I was to be a vet. I also wrote case studies of things I’d seen at the vets and did quite a lot of research through the books at the vets I worked at. I sent all these with my application too and I think it helped a lot. Next year if all else fails you can always try a related degree like physiology and then see if you can transfer onto the vet course after the first year. Don’t give up, you’ve got plenty of chances yet and GOOD LUCK! Emma
