Do I still have a chance? Hello Emma. I was wondering if you were aware if universities would accept applicants if the A-levels were not in the first sitting? I have always enjoyed science subjects and done well, however when I changed schools and for personal reasons my grades significantly slipped and I only got a D at GCSE so I didn't take on sciences at A-levels. I have always wanted to become a vet but after already mentioned personal problems pushed the subject out of mind. I now find myself longing to become a vet again and wondered if you could suggest any way back into it? Thank you very much, Daisy.
DaisyTo be totally honest I don’t know but I suspect you still have a shot, particularly if you are determined. Some of the universities can be a bit picky if you took the subjects and failed and had to re-sit but if you took different ones and decided to do sciences a second time round I can’t see how they could have any problems if you get the qualifying gradeds. It might be worth emailing the universities offering the courses and see what they say. In particular it could be worth looking at Nottingham. They are approaching the whole subject in quite radical new ways and are much more interested in aptitude and determination that simply academic intelligence. I wish you lots of luck and please let me know you get on. Emma
