Is it too late for me to become a vet? I'm taking my A Levels this year and somewhere in between watching a myriad of animal rescue programs and volunteering at the Zoo for the longest time, it occurred to me that I may have lost my only chance to be a vet forever. The subjects I'm doing for A levels are Economics, History and Literature and I only did science subjects for my GCSEs.All the veterinary universities I checked up are adamant about students doing biology and chemistry as A Level subjects for entry and so I've been really upset lately thinking about the future I may have passed up. I'm asking you because I think you're a really smart person and you would know about these things, considering my non-science related background, is it too late for me to become a vet ever? Kimberly You definitely can’t do veterinary medicine with the A levels you are taking. It is never too late though. You could either switch courses if you are not too far through or take the right A- levels afterwards. Obviously this would be time- consuming and possibly expensive. Why not talk to the school and see what they would recommend. If you did science GCSE’s all hope is not lost!
