How do I do case studies? : Hi Emma, My name is Emma and I'm 16. I'm determined to become a vet, my gcse's should god willing have the results I need. To enrich my application after I've taken my A'levels, I've talked to a vet about volunteering during the summer holidays and then later during 6th form, I did a weeks work experience last year, but I didn't think to make detailed notes. This year I want to make notes to send with my application, but I'm not sure how to do case studies. Could you give me any advice as to how to present the experience I gather? Thanks, Emma
Emma DrinkallGood luck for your application. Getting as much work experience as you can time- wise is a good idea. As far as notes go, what I did was made rough notes and then typed them up and put them in a folder. I divided them into small animals and large animals. Each case is best if you start with species, breed, age, sex etc and then a brief description of how the animal presented, what tests were done, what treatment if any was given and what the outcome was. Ten or so should be plenty, if you send reams they just won’t look at it. Emma
